First Prize of the International Grand Final of the 18th iCAN International Contest of Innovation

In October 2025, the International Grand Finals of the 18th iCAN International Contest of Innovation for University Students was successfully concluded. Jointly sponsored by the iCAN International Alliance and the China Information Association, it is a top-tier international university student innovation and entrepreneurship competition focusing on innovative applications of microelectronics, intelligent sensing, artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). The competition has been included in the National College Student Competition List for Regular Higher Education Institutions issued by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. With over a decade of development, it has become a pivotal international platform worldwide for the exchange of young sci-tech innovation talents, technological innovation, and the commercialization of research achievements.

For this edition, the competition set up two major sections, namely the China Division and the International Division, covering multiple core tracks including Intelligent Equipment and Systems, Digital Twin and Industrial Internet, New Energy and Sustainable Development, Smart Ocean and Aerospace Technology. It attracted teams from nearly 20 top universities across the globe, including the Technical University of Munich (TUM) of Germany and the University of Hong Kong (HKU).

After full-English roadshow and defense, multi-dimensional evaluation of innovation achievements, and rigorous review by the international expert review panel, the participating team in this track entered the competition with an innovative intelligent sensing system and equipment work tailored to core industry demands. The team completed the full-chain R&D work ranging from core technical principle innovation, software and hardware integrated development, prototype fabrication to scenario-based field application. The work, boasting both outstanding technological advancement and broad industrial application value, stood out from numerous participating teams worldwide, and successfully won the First Prize in the International Grand Finals of this year's competition.
