Professor Kai Tao from the School of Mechanical Engineering Selected into "World's Top 2% Scientists"
On November 3, 2022, Stanford University released the list of World's Top 2% Scientists 2022. Kai Tao, a young teacher from the School of Mechanical Engineering, was selected for his outstanding contributions in the fields of Nanoscience & Nanotechnology and Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
The "Stanford World's Top 2% Scientists List" is a highly influential global academic ranking published on Elsevier's Mendeley Data platform by the research team led by Professor John PA Ioannidis of Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier. Based on comprehensive and objective indicators including global publication citation counts, h-index, and author-adjusted hm-index among approximately ten million scientists worldwide, the list selects the top 2% of scientists from nearly ten million researchers globally in terms of both career-long impact and single-year impact. The selected scientists are categorized into 22 main fields and 174 subfields. These datasets provide a globally recognized benchmark for evaluating scientists' long-term research performance and reflect their academic influence in a more objective and authentic manner.
As a specially appointed researcher, Tao Kai achieved a global comprehensive ranking of 1.19% in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology and Electrical & Electronic Engineering, successfully securing a place in the World's Top 2% Scientists list.
